Rachel Wagner (Helen Keller)
Ten year old Rachel is honored to be making her Contra Costa Christian Theatre debut as Helen Keller. She recently had the pleasure of performing with Chanticleers: Snoopy (Woodstock); ACLO: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat ( Children's Chorus/Featured Dancer); and CCMT: Annie (Orphan Kate). An accomplished Irish Dancer, she also loves to sing, golf, and play the piano. Rachel studies acting at A.C.T. and aspires to be on Broadway, a veterinarian, or the next Tiger Woods. She thanks her family and theatre friends, especially Susan, Annie, and July, for all their love and support.

Jennifer Wilson (Annie Sullivan)
Having recently returned from traveling in Europe, Jennifer is very excited to be back on the stage. Jennifer is currently attending DVC, working towards a teaching degree and during the day works as a substitute teaching assistant. Favorite credits include: Clayton Valley High School: To Kill A Mockingbird (Jean Louise), A Piece of My Heart (Martha), Sweet Charity (Nicki); Contra Costa Christian Theatre: God's Favorite (Sarah), DVC: Gypsy (Mrs. Cratchett/Dancer). She would like to give a special thanks to her Mother, Father, Jonny, Katie, Maureen, Gene, her beautiful friends and above all God, for He is the true happiness in her life.

Mary Mackey (Kate Keller)
Mary, a SAG/AFTRA member, teaches acting at Full Circle Productions and is represented by Stars in San Francisco. In her 15 years as an actress, she's worked with Sharon Stone, and played opposite Don Johnson in Nash Bridges (Elaine Heller). Theatre credits: Along the Watch Tower (Gertrude), Heaven Can Wait (Julia Farnsworth), Harvey (Nurse Kelly), and Romantic Comedy (Allison St. James). Mary coordinates Book-Pals, a homeless shelter reading program. She wishes to thank John Howard Swain and Billie Shepard for all their guidance and to Reen for giving her the opportunity to become a part of this beautiful, inspirational play and the gift of working with such a loving ../images/miracleworker.

Mike Fleck (James Keller)
This is Mike's debut return to theatre. Back in New Jersey, Mike had a leading role in And Then There Were None, and sang in an award winning small ensemble group. After a long hiatus from the creative arts, Mike felt the call to return and share God's gifts. By day, Mike is the Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Colt Express (a Benefits Administration Company in Walnut Creek). Great big thanks to wife Catherine for her tremendous support in this project, to his children, Samantha, Sarah and Holly for their inspiration and to God, for the needed little push!

Gary Mutz (Captain Arthur Keller)
Gary returns for the fourth time to Contra Costa Christian Theatre, having previously been seen in the title roles of Life With Father and God's Favorite, as well as appearing in Lilies of the Field (Orville Livingston). A two-time Shellie award recipient, Gary has appeared in shows throughout the Bay Area over the past 23 years. Recent shows include Willows: You Can't Take It With You (Paul Sycamore), Benicia Theatre: Sylvia (Greg), Town Hall: Laughter on the 23rd Floor (Kenny Franks). He wishes to thank his wife Deborah for her continued support, love, and understanding; and God, for helping him to see hope and love instead of despair.

Jay Markwart (Doctor, Servant)
Jay is happy to debut with Contra Costa Christian Theatre as he builds his theatrical resume. While training for Voice Acting, Jay hones his acting skills on stage. Other shows he's enjoyed playing in were: Chanticleers: Don't Drink The Water (Kilroy); Pleasanton Playhouse: Man Of La Mancha (Jose, ensemble). Jay is employed by day as a Research & Development Technician, and with Jan, his wife, is grateful to God for two amazing kids, who are going on to adulthood with His guidance. Jay will always acknowledge God as his ultimate Producer/Director, remembering that in His shows "there are no auditions, and plenty of motivation".

Velena S. Jones (Gertie)
Very excited to make her Contra Costa Christian Theatre debut, Velena is in the seventh grade at Northcreek Academy and is president of their Student Council. Velena studies ballet and is on pointe at The Ballet School in Walnut Creek. Credits include: Oliver (crew chief); Diary of Anne Frank (Miep) with Reen Vogel directing. Velena believes that God has brought her to be in this play to share God's love. Velena would like to thank Reen for encouraging her to try out for the play, her parents for their support and God for bringing her to this play with all the wonderful people involved in it.

Vanessa Anderson (Martha and Jimmy)
Vanessa is delighted to be debuting with Contra Costa Christian Theatre. She has been on the stage for four years. Some of her acting credits include: J & L Center Stage: We Drew the Sky (Martha); The Next Big Thing: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Mrs. Potiphar); Godspell (Apostle); The Wiz (Citizen, Winkie and a Poppy); Contra Costa Children's Chorus: 100 Years of Broadway (Various Roles). She is looking forward to starting the fifth grade next year. Vanessa wishes to thank her parents for being so supportive and encouraging.

Greg Schwemer (Anagnos, Perkin's Report voice)
Greg is excited to be in his debut performance with Contra Costa Christian Theatre. He served on the Contra Costa Christian Theatre crew of Life with Father and Cotton Patch Gospel. With his wife and son being involved in past productions, Greg has made this a "family affair". By day, Greg is a Biostatistician with a Bay Area Biotech company. One of his favorite sayings is: "A guy who knows his numbers is a guy you can count on!" Greg is thankful that God knows the number of hairs on each of our heads and showers us with grace daily.

Linda Sklov (Viney, 1st Crone)
Three times is the charm. Linda auditioned for Contra Costa Christian Theatre twice before being ../images/miracleworker as Viney in The Miracle Worker. By day, Linda works in a small San Francisco law firm as a legal assistant. Nights and weekends, she passes herself off as different characters such as Mrs. Cratchit in A Christmas Carol, the Hostess of the Garter in Shakespeare's Merry Wives of Windsor, Mrs. Brady in Inherit the Wind, the spinster sister, Mary, in Octette Bridge Club and most recently as Nursie in Tennessee Williams' Vieux Carré. Linda hopes you enjoy this play as much as she enjoys being on stage to entertain you.

Rose Marie Sweeney (Aunt Ev, 2nd Crone)
This is Rose Marie's first show with Contra Costa Christian Theatre. Recent acting credits include: Dreamweavers Theatre: The Mouse Trap (Mrs. Boyle); The Man Who Came to Dinner (Daisy Stanley); Scotland Road (Dr. Halbrech); Steambath (Tandy); Benicia OTTG: Sylvia (Kate). Favorite roles from long ago and far away (Maine and Guam!!) include: All My Sons (Kate); Mame (Mame); Steel Magnolias (Ouiser, Mlynn); House of Blue Leaves (Bananas). In her spare time, Rose Marie loves to sew. She is excited to use these talents to help on the costume crew for Miracle Worker.

David Kimball (Servant, 3rd Crone)
David is glad to be appearing in his first Contra Costa Christian Theatre production. David was in the production Salad Days with the Pleasant Hill High School. Satyrs and 12 Angry People (Men), with the Pleasant Hill Playmakers in the late 1960's. A contractor by day, David thanks God, and His blessings for the life he's been given.

Megan Elizabeth Abraham (Beatrice - blind girl)
A junior at Berean Christian, Megan is excited to make her debut with Contra Costa Christian Theatre. Some theatrical credits: CTA Crossroads: Our Town (Lizzy), Bye Bye Birdie (Mae Peterson); CSTC: Dames at Sea (Joan); CTN: The Wiz (u.s. Dorothy) and Big River (Young Fool). Favorite roles: GRCT: Into the Woods (Cinderella); LTHT: Arcadia (Thomisina). Megan Elizabeth is an aspiring theatrical critic. She wants to thank the best English teacher in the world, Mr. Lee, for instilling in her a love of words and writing, and God for the amazing plan He has in store for her life.

Katrina Alston (Meg - blind girl)
Katrina is thrilled to be debuting with Contra Costa Christian Theatre! Acting credits include: WCPC Players: Hannah! (Eunice). Katrina is a student at Northgate High School and plays the bass in the Northgate Orchestra, preceded by six years of playing the violin. Katrina has taken ballet since she was three, and currently she's in Level 3 at Mary Lyon's Dance Center One. She has also taken acting and modeling classes with John Robert Powers. Katrina is continually awed by God's amazing grace and thankful to have such a great opportunity! She also wishes to thank her family and friends for their amazing support. Clink Clink!

Rebecca Hoobler (Laura - blind girl)
While making her Contra Costa Christian Theatre debut, this is Rebecca's fourth show. She thinks everyone involved is just wonderful, and is happy to be working with them. Credits include: Les Miserables (Prouvaire), Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead (Ophelia), and I Never Listened in Medical School (Patient number 2071). Rebecca loves acting and hopes to always have it as part of her life. She would just like to thank her parents for the rides, and all her family and her wonderful friends for their support. And thanks to her awesome drama teacher Mr. Wills! Enjoy the show!

Caety Klingman (Alice - blind girl)
A fourth grader at Glorietta Elementary, Caety is pleased to be making her Contra Costa Christian Theatre debut in The Miracle Worker. Past credits include Orinda Ovations Musical Theater: The Sound of Music (Marta); Guys and Dolls (Harry the Horse); Grease (Betty); The Wiz (Miss One); Walnut Creek Civic Arts: A Midsummer Night's Dream (Flute); Glorietta Elementary: Fiddler on the Roof (Villager). Caety also enjoys Odyssey of the Mind, Girl Scouts, Irish dancing, and video production. Caety thanks her family for their support, and thanks God for making her unique.

Laura McIntosh (Rose - blind girl)
Laura is a seventh grader at Contra Costa Christian School. She has participated in DLOC's Starstruck program, school musicals, and the school play of the Diary of Anne Frank. This is a wonderful experience for her to be in this Contra Costa Christian Theatre play and she hopes to be in many more in the future. She studies gymnastics and piano and would like to thank her parents for encouraging her to start acting.

Katie Vogel (Emily - blind girl)
Having worked behind the scenes in Cotton Patch Gospel, Katie is thrilled to act in her first Contra Costa Christian Theatre production. Katie is 9 1/2 years old and is currently a third grade student at Northcreek Academy, where she has been in three musicals. She loves to read (and has been known to finish a 300 page chapter book in just one night!), sing, draw and play director to her sister when they make up plays at home. She has studied tap and ballet with Mary Lyons at Dance Center One. She wishes to thank the other 'blind' girls and her parents for helping, and God for his wonderful blessings!

Molly Vogel (Sarah - blind girl)
Molly is excited to make her acting debut with Contra Costa Christian Theatre. She is 7 1/2 years old and is in first grade at Northcreek Academy. Molly loves to sing songs from musicals like Joseph...Dreamcoat (as a one man show!) and Sound of Music. She also loves to draw, read and endlessly act out homemade plays with her sister, or scenes from musicals she loves like Cotton Patch Gospel. She has studied tap and ballet with Mary Lyons at Dance Center One. Molly wishes to thank God, and dedicates her performance to her grandparents, especially her Grandpa George in heaven.
